Inflation falls in July, but housing prices keep rising
After rising to its highest level in 40 years in June, inflation dropped slightly in July. Thanks to a decrease in the gasoline index the Consumer Price Index (CPI) remained unchanged from the month prior, after hitting a 1.3% seasonally adjusted rate in June, according to data released Wednesday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Year over year, the CPI for all items rose 8.5% in July, down from the 9.1% yearly increase reported a month ago. Read More

Despite added supply, average apartment rent in metro Denver ticks up
“The second quarter is typically the strongest quarter for rent growth,” Ron Throupe, an associate professor of real estate at the University of Denver Daniels College of Business and author of the report, said in a release. “This period is when most moves are made by families and individuals. This leads to a seasonal demand scenario and a positive rent effect of early summer with renters looking to migrate to the metro area or relocate from within.” Read More

DMAR Real Estate Market Trends Report | AUG. '22
The data confirms that the Denver Metro area is no longer in a shifting market. Instead, it has shifted, and the real estate market is more balanced. Month-over-month, the market is down 3.33 percent but compared to last year, it is still up 11.04 percent, indicating that a more balanced market, combined with slightly decreasing interest rates, may create opportunity for those who previously felt burned out on the process.
