Dear DMAR Community,
The tragic and senseless death of George Floyd is truly heartbreaking and our deepest sympathies are extended to the Floyd family and other families that understand this suffering and have been touched by injustice.
There are no words to describe the pain our community and our country is feeling right now. We want you to know that we are here, we are listening, we are reflecting and we are committed to doing our part to meaningfully stand up against racism and injustice. Diversity and inclusion within our Association and the neighborhoods for which we serve makes us all better, and we want to amplify that belief by being leaders of positive change.
But words are not enough. We need to take action.
Over the coming days, weeks and months we will be working with our Board of Directors, our Community Alliance Committee and leaders in our real estate community to organize actions we can take to ensure we do our part as advocates of change to make our world – our community – better.
As an Association with over 7,000 members and as an integral part of the fabric of our community, we have an obligation to our members, our employees, the clients we serve and our fellow neighbors to use our collective voice and influence to build an inclusive society and fight against injustice everywhere.
We welcome your feedback and involvement as we identify solutions, put plans into action and work to make meaningful change together.
Ann Turner,
DMAR’s CEO
Euan Graham,
DMAR’s Chairman of the Board
