They also attended the RPAC President’s Circle Conference in Las Vegas, where dedicated REALTORS® come together from across the country to meet with prominent political influencers and discuss key public policies that impact the real estate industry. At this year’s RPAC President’s Circle Conference, guest speakers included Madeleine Albright, Tom Brokaw and NAR’s Senior Vice President and Chief Lobbyist, Jerry Giovaniello.
Gary Bauer, Kit Cowperthwaite, Joseph Divito and Karen Frisone were recognized as the 2015 RPAC PRESIDENT’S CIRCLE AND PLATINUM “R” INVESTORS. On top of the recognition at the state and national level, they were also honored at the Excellence Awards 2016.
To highlight the occasion, we asked them a few questions, to get an insight into why RPAC matters to them, to their business and to the industry as a whole.
Q #1: Why is RPAC vital to the Real Estate Industry?
Q #2: What was your biggest takeaway from the RPAC President’s Circle Conference, in Las Vegas?
#1 “The work RPAC does is vital to not only our industry, but for all homeowners. Their strong advocacy in Washington is unparalleled. I especially appreciate their non-partisan approach to supporting candidates who are friendly to the issues that protect homeownership values for all Americans. No matter what side you are on, The REALTOR® Party does not take political sides. They take the side of homeowners and REALTORS® nationwide.”
#2 “The President’s Circle Conference never disappoints. Sessions were packed with information and keynote speakers who provide amazing insight about the industry and housing issues. The networking and entertainment provided in addition to the advocacy and education solidifies this event as the one I look forward to the most each year.” - Karen Frisone, K.O. Real Estate, DMAR Director
#1 "RPAC is vital to the real estate industry for many reasons, primarily that it enables REALTORS® to help elect and support representatives in our local, state and national elections who, regardless of political party, we believe will best promote legislative and regulatory successes. This ensures that the rights of private property owners throughout the country are protected. Our success as an organization in promoting tax relief to the real estate industry, improving mortgage programs, preserving the mortgage interest deduction and eliminating burdensome regulations are but a sampling of reasons why RPAC must be supported. If we protect private property interests then we’re promoting success for our industry." - Kit Cowperthwaite, KitRealty, DMAR CAR Director
#1 "RPAC helps REALTORS® build better communities by supporting quality growth and seeking sustainable economies and housing opportunities that embrace the environmental qualities cherished by REALTORS® and homeowners, while protecting property rights. RPAC focuses on: ensuring economic vitality, providing jobs and housing opportunities, preserving our environment, protecting real property owners’ rights, and building better communities."
#2 "I am honored to be able to attend the RPAC President’s Circle Conference. In looking at an overview, NAR has approximately 1.1 million members, approximately 30% of NAR’s members invest in RPAC, approximately 1,000 of NAR’s members are President’s Circle Members, and approximately 80 RPAC investors met the Platinum R® level. The President’s Circle Conference was educational, inspirational, and provided an opportunity to network with the President’s Circle Members." -Gary Bauer, Garold D. Bauer, DMAR NAR Director
#1 "Because it's our PAC! If we don't fight for our rights who will? Someone has to stand up for home ownership and private property rights. This is our profession and we must speak up!"
#2 "As usual, the conference is host to a great list of speakers. The attendees are the movers and shakers of the industry. The location of the conference is always the best! They build in a lot of play time as well. It's a great experience. You won't be disappointed!" - Joe DiVito, DiVito Dream Makers-RE/MAX Alliance
