DOJ withdraws from settlement with NAR
The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) has fully walked back a settlement agreement it reached with the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) in the waning months of the Trump administration regarding anti-trust claims, the agency announced Thursday. In a statement, the DOJ said it was withdrawing from the settlement so it could undertake a broader investigation into the NAR’s rules. Read More
SCOTUS Majority: CDC Overstepped With Eviction Moratorium
A majority of the U.S. Supreme Court agreed Tuesday evening that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention does not have the authority to issue a nationwide eviction moratorium. The high court fell short of lifting the moratorium before it expires July 31, but the National Association of REALTORS® still calls the Supreme Court’s ruling a “victory for property rights.” Read More
