Extreme Community Makeover Hosted by YPN
Extreme Community Makeover is hosting a Real Estate Day on Tuesday, June 8. DMAR YPN is putting together a group of volunteers to help with alley clean-up (pulling weeds, picking up trash, sweeping alleys) and graffiti removal. This is a great experience to work with your peers to clean up some great neighborhoods. There is a $10 fee to participate which includes lunch. Register Here
Yun: 'FOMO' Behind Some of the Buying Frenzy
Home prices are rising quickly and mortgage rates are near historical lows. Some home buyers may be panicking and believing they need to buy a home right away. “They are experiencing the fear of missing out,” Yun told NPR. “But at the same time, people feel very uncomfortable needing to make a rushed decision on such a major expenditure.” Read More
VA-like housing bill proposed for first responders, teachers
Legislation would axe downpayment and monthly mortgage insurance fee for firefighters, police officers, paramedics and teachers. The bill would allow borrowers to finance up to 100% of the acquisition price. Mortgages would be subject to FHA loan limits. Homebuyers would pay an up-front mortgage insurance premium of 3.6 percent of the principal, which could be financed, and would not pay a monthly insurance premium. Read More
NAR Announces Partnership with LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance as Pride Month Approaches
The National Association of Realtors® announced today a new partnership with the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance. The Alliance was founded June 2020 and currently has chapters throughout the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. The collaboration will allow the groups to identify training opportunities that cultivate LGBTQ+ leaders and mobilize members in support of mutually beneficial federal policies, among other pro-LGBTQ+ and real estate industry initiatives.
