Heavy snows in the second half of March didn't keep metro Denver's housing market from heating up right on time, according to a Denver Metro Association of REALTORS® report. Both sellers and buyers showed up in larger numbers in March, allowing the inventory of homes available for sale to bounce back from the record lows reached last month.
The Denver Metro Association of REALTORS®, for example, measured a median sold price of $331,000 in March.
Metro Denver's inventory of homes available for sale could quadruple and still would be around the historical average. There were only 3,963 active listings at the end of February, down dramatically from the 30-year average for that month of nearly 15,000, according to the Denver Metro Association of REALTORS®.

There was an active inventory of 4,482 homes on the market in March, a 13.1 percent jump from the record low of 3,963 in February and a 9 percent increase from 4,112 in March, 2015, according to a report from the Denver Metro Association of REALTORS®. “Spring has sprung and the Denver-area is bursting with activity,” said Anthony Rael, Chairman of the DMAR Market Trends Committee and a Denver real estate agent.
