Who doesn’t love talking about themselves? When you join, be sure to write a short bio and share it with your group members. Include what you do, what your goals are, and a link to your business. Throw in a photo and any other information you want to share for good measure. Be sure to comment on your fellow members’ bios - they like talking about themselves too!
Write something great lately? See an excellent event coming up? Those are definitely things to post. Keep your content directed at the group interests - sharing work that you find inspiring, or creating something you are proud of, is a great way to open up communication. Although sometimes a funny cat video can find its way into your group discussion as well.
The Facebook groups’ equivalent of a “party foul”, spamming, can include a few things. Sharing repetitively the same information , sending mass invites, posting off-topic content, giving negative & personally critical comments are a few examples of spam. If you want to be respected in your group, make sure you avoid this type of content.
Want to drive some interest in your newest deal? Looking for some traffic to your brand new site? Or maybe you are looking for some new followers to your company page. Once a week, there will be a designated day to post all things about you and your business. Make it interesting and friendly; this is an excellent opportunity to showcase your brand to your group members.
Your group is one of the best ways to stay on top of upcoming events. Check out the calendar of upcoming events and RSVP from the “Events” tab on your group’s homepage. You can also share the events on your wall and encourage people outside of your group to join in the action.
A great way to encourage a conversation - and get the answers you need - is to ask your group a question. Your fellow group members are excellent resources to finding the answers you need. Have an answer for someone? Help them out! Get your group members opinion using the polling options available as well.
Events with your group are probably going to be documented. Be sure to share your experiences by uploading photos and videos, and tagging others to get them in on the conversation. If you want to add someone to the conversation in a comments, use the “@” symbol before their name. This notifies them that they have been tagged.
It’s always good to work a room, and your group is no different. You can send a message to as many or as few people in your group as you would like using the group chat feature. Get some opinions, plan an event, or talk about your favorite movies. To get to talking, head up to the “...” at the top right corner again and select “Send Message.”
