WHY: The former Green Gables Country Club owned by Urban Frontier will be transforming into a $150 million mixed-use development including 300 single-family homes to be built by CalAtlantic. In addition, a consortium of other developers will construct five buildings housing 300 multi-family units and 225,000 square feet of commercial space with one retail anchor.

Who is Daniel J. Nickless? 

Daniel J. Nickless is the Division President for CalAtlantic Homes” Colorado operation based in Denver. In this capacity, Dan is responsible for planning and directing the division’s overall operations including product design, land acquisition and development, sales and marketing, production and customer relations. He has focused the division’s local emphasis on sustainable development and energy efficient product with recognition from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star Certified Homes Leadership in Housing Award.  Dan has a wealth of real estate knowledge earned over more than 25 years in the industry. 

Prior to Ryland and CalAtlantic merger Dan served as division president for Ryland’s Colorado operations.  Previous to Ryland Dan was a co-founder and President of a private development and general contracting and consulting firm and has served as President of two other national builders during his career. While in these positions, he has led the organization’s teams in the collaboration with several architects  in the  creation of numerous  award winning product lines including; single family detached, paired and attached multi-family “for sale” homes. Most recently, his team received the Silver Award from the National Association of Homebuilders and the Gold Award from the Home Builders of Metro Denver (HBA) for Best Attached product, a new age targeted Patio Villa. In addition the team was recognized with the Gold Award from the HBA for the Best “Green Home”.
