Construction Defects Update | Great news for DMAR

On Tuesday, Nov 17, Denver Business Journal published an update on construction defects titled "Denver council's first vote for construction-defects reform law is unanimous".  This is encouraging news! Denver’s construction defects ordinance will be up for a 2nd and final reading next Monday, November 23rd.

Denver City Council’s unanimous vote is a huge win for DMAR. This ordinance has been a major advocacy goal for the association. It is imperative that Denver do everything in its power to produce more owner-occupied units as the State Legislature refuses to pass common sense reforms on this important issue. Over the past two years, DMAR has worked with the Mayor’s Office, Denver City Council and City staff in an effort to increase consumer protection while increasing the production of for-sale attached housing. We are certainly pleased by Monday’s outcome, but will continue our advocacy efforts to ensure that this vote remains unanimous on second and final reading.
