Affiliate Council Leadership Ballot | 2015-2016
We are pleased to announce candidates for the 2015-2016 Affiliate Council Leadership.
You can read more about our two Chair-Elects below, and then please vote for one candidate. Ballots must be received by August 21, 2015 at 5:00 p.m.
Shawn Maricle, Cornerstone Mortgage
Shawn Maricle has been in real estate related businesses for over 17 years. Shawn started off as a closer and funder, and then moved on to managing those departments. He has managed other departments in the mortgage industry as well. Since becoming a member of DMAR, Shawn has been very active in all aspects of the Association by sponsoring and attending a multitude of events. He attends the West and Golden marketing meetings on a weekly basis, as well as the monthly Affiliate Council meetings. Shawn was the first Affiliate ever to be elected to the Government Affairs Committee. He has been very involved in GAC and reports back to the Affiliates at their monthly meetings. Shawn is also an active volunteer on the DMAR High School Senior Scholarship Program task force.
“As the Affiliate Chair-Elect, one of my goals will be to increase member to member business referrals within the Association. Right now, Affiliates are spending lots of time and money supporting the Association. My goal will be to show some appreciation by using those Affiliate businesses within DMAR.”
Jesse Hamilton, Land Title Guarantee Company
Before joining Land Title in 2012, Jesse Hamilton sold real estate in the Denver Metro area for almost eight years. This experience has provided Jesse the knowledge to better understand the challenges REALTORS® face, as well as the value that trade partners can provide. Jesse wants to improve the value of the classes, events, activities and resources that the Affiliates provide to DMAR and our members. Jesse has been active within several sub-committees of the Affiliate Council such as the New Affiliate Member Committee and the Bowling Task Force. He also shares vital information with the Affiliates on key topics affecting our marketplace and the steps we can all take to overcome the challenge. One of the most recent topics that Jesse shared was Construction Defect Legislation.
“The Affiliate Chair-Elect and Chair roles within DMAR are crucial roles that must be lead in a direction of partnership with the DMAR Board. The Affiliates provide a wealth of resources and knowledge to our REALTOR® Partners and we need to ensure they are aligned together. I am running for the Chair-Elect position to bring attention to matters affecting the Affiliates and maximize our value to DMAR.”
